Lee Jong Hyun (이종현; pronounced [iː dʑoːŋ hjəːn]; born on May 15, 1990) is a South Korean guitarist, musician, and singer. He is the lead guitarist, vocalist and occasional composer of the South Korean rock band CN Blue, which debuted in January 2010 in South Korea before that they debuted as indie band in August 2009 in Japan then made major debut in October 2011 in Japan.[1]. Lee was initially the leader when the band made their debut in Japan in 2009. Following their Korean debut, fellow member Jung Yong Hwa became the new leader in January 2010.

Life and career

Musical career

Lee Jonghyun was born on May 15, 1990, in Busan, South Korea.[2] His family consists of his parents and an older sister. He lived in Busan before his family moved to Japan when he was four years old. His family moved back to Busan and he finished his middle school and high school there. He first met Jung Yong Hwa when they were on their way to Seoul for FNC Music audition and began training in bass technology at FNC Academy.

Jonghyun serves as the lead guitarist and vocalist of CN Blue. He also composed songs for their albums.

Acting career

In 2010, Lee landed his first acting role as Kim Seong Won in an omnibus film Acoustic which was released on October 28, 2010. Lee acted alongside his fellow CN Blue member, Kang Min Hyuk who played his brother Kim Hae Won in the second part of the movie called "Bakery Attack". The movie revolves around the story of two brothers who love music but could not make ends meet with it. The older brother decided to sell his guitar but his younger brother accidentally lost it. They found the guitar in a bakery in Hongik University and learned new insights about music from the bakery owner.
